My bad, it was proposed. At some point, I feel, this will become reality.
In the 2007 NPRM, FMCSA proposed to require that EOBRs be capable of transferring records of duty status (RODS) using either the USB 2.0 or the RS-232 wired communication standards, as well as IEEE 802.11g or Bluetooth wireless communication standards. The NPRM did not specify the type of USB connector.

I have my own Prepass account and box. They don't know what I'm hauling. They have my cab card and ifta info and look at the carrier safety info. to determine bypass or pull-in. And yes, some scales have "weigh in motion" devices implanted out on the roadway. It all depends on how many poles with scanners you see above the road BEFORE the scale house.and look for metal bars embedded in the road below them.

no.But you Can email or Fax to them!!

There are no regs stating the EOBR has to be a specific brand or type. I use KT and DW. Both do not send personal identifiable information to anyone, except whom you allow.

If they want to mandate the logs so tight like that I can see a whole lot of late loads. To be 100% compliant the driver would have had to complete a 10 hour break right outside the customer before entering and they are only open for delivery for a few hours at night then they open up the docks for their local drivers to get loaded. I don't mind the log going to On Duty to move the truck a couple hundred yards, docking and undocking etc. but if it clicks over to Drive each time that is just too much. -
Regardless if its an edge or not? -
And I also go stopped in Albuquerque for doing 67 in a 65... He looked at my eLog and my very book and let me go with a verbal for running two over... Some sticker didn't stop him.

Something like 2 years ago when DOT would see the ELog decal they'd waive you by because they weren't very well versed in how to read them. As time continues to pass and more and more companies start using them DOT is getting better at reading them.
