My cut off was when he ran 90mph In Nebraska. His steer tire popped. Why? He found some local bozo to put a freaking trailer re cap tire instead of getting new tires. That's how cheap he was about it.

Flipflops owns the company, but driver was paying for fuel. The reason he made so much is the guy was doing twice the mileage. If he slowed down and ran legal, Flipflops would not have had as much profit.

Think about the worst case. What happens if this guy continues to pencil whip the logs, falls asleep and blows a red light for example. Horrific accident, a car load of kids die. What's your liability in that case?

You have to let him go.

By letting him go you're actually helping his tax situation out. There's that old adage, 'the more you make the more they take' (IRS). His solution is to keep running more and more illegal to pay the previous taxes which in turn creates more tax burden for himself.

He made his own bed it is up to him to sleep in it.

Yikes. . safe to assume that under his risk umbrella you'll soon be on the FMCSA radar. You don't want that.

I don't envy your decision. Throwing easy money out the window is tough to do.

Bottom line. Does your company mean as much to you as it does to this particular employee? I think you know the answer. Protect what you've invested so much time and money into and find a driver that best suites your business model.

So many things just wrong with that he's a clown do everyone a service and get him off the road the days of hard running and stupidly are gone. When he kills or seriously hurts someone is not if but when and when that does happen you will be going down with him. You are taking the risk he has none really and he's already told you he has little regard for his own life so how much does he have for others life? You just got lucky he didn't have something happen already. And you are thinking about making easy money off the clown. HE IS NO FRIEND HECK HE DONT EVEN RESPECT YOU!
