It's not really a load board. Its a computer system. It looks like a load board when a driver views it, but that's just the web based interface so led to the term loaf board being used. The software looks entirely different on our coordinators network.

Sorry, but I guess I'd be saying WTF also even though you explained it-I'm just use to people calling me on the phone saying they have this load, when can you bring it to me?

Here it's our coordinator calls and says got loads xyz matchex to you, do you want one? Ok you are number xx on it ill let ya know if it gets to you. We can also go on the web, view the loads and try to get one the same way.

The biggest problem people have is they set their preferences too tight. So the computer system doesn't match them to very many loads. Your coordinator can only see what loads the computer says matches up to you. And computers can't make judgement calls. If you say you won't pull a load under 2 bucks a mile, you never see a load paying 1.999/mile. Same with weight. Guys say they wont haul anything over 45k. A load might pay 4 bucks a mile on 2500 miles, but weighs 45001. They never see it. Same with deadhead. They say 100 miles is all im willing to go for a load. Minimum distance. Tarp. Etc etc etc. Computers can not think. They can only process preset info you put in. So guys really screw themselves by what they preset into the computer.

OK @spyder7723 pretty much hit everything. And the positions can get very difficult to understand as we see one number, but depending on how the agent or coordinator types stuff in you can lose your spot just by making an empty call.

I run mainly west right now. Just grabbed a load from the house to Cali that delivers next Monday. Right now when I look at the board it shows I'm number 13 (14? Idr) because it reverted back to my last empty time (last week) and not my west coast empty time (back in December). Now when I empty at 8am Monday morning I will revert back to number 1 and the 13 people in front of me will all get pushed back. If the true number 2-5 are all on loads that empty Monday then everyone else will get pushed back too. So someone that looks at the board on Sunday and sees "Matched 1" then wakes up to "matched 6" thinks they got pushed back. In reality because the way it works out here they where never #1.
