Doesn't even have to be that bad, just don't visit Concentra! Every time I tried Concentra, it was "OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH.... you need to be tested!" I went to another guy and there wasn't an issue at all. And his test was more thorough than the one I got at Concentra.

Tell them "No". I'll never understand why people will just sit around and allow others to screw them. People have no balls these days.
BostonTanker, MISPLACED TEXAN and ira1377 Thank this. -
If they sell you one of those Pap machines or whatever it's called, they make lots of profit-multiply by several thousand and you can retire.

If you are require to take a Sleep Apnea test, for your best interest have your personal doctor set it up with a Pulmonary specialist.

The thing is (having gone through it myself, and no apnea been found) even IF said driver says no to the questionnaire or to the nurse practitioner/doctor that he does not have daytime sleepiness, etc, etc, if the doctor determines that because you may have a 17" neckline, and a BMI over a certain limit, then they can see fit to cash in on having a sleep study ordered. But, it is not a rule - just a guideline. So, that tells me that it really is up to the clinic or DOT doctor performing the DOT physical.Big Don, ASHLEYDRIVER2013 and Lonesome Thank this.

Just like most things in life, if there is a way to make money off of people desperate for a job or trying to keep a job, they will find a way to exploit you for it. If I'm ever told I need a sleep test and I have to pay for it, you can shove your driving job. Better bring in them skinnies on a H1B visa.
Big Don and The Patriot Thank this. -
It is a scam....first off this apena crap is why out of hand and in truth...not many really do have it like the witch doctors claim. It is a blanket finding for other not so serious conditions or even seasonal illnesses that we all get from one time or another.
Also it is blatant discrimination against overweight people. One driver not so long ago used it successfully in a law suit and won.
By the way my feelings on this myth of apena has been confirmed by a few physicians I personally know and have talked to about this very subject.
One last note...currently there are no laws on sleep apena...this is company driven.RookieJ1987 and Anonymousproxy Thank this.
