Starting off with brokers is not easy. First, find one good broker and work with them, establishing a good working relationship. Branch out as needed to keep working. It takes time and hard work to find some good brokers to work with. Finding a good broker is a lot like looking for a virgin in a cathouse but it can be done. Good luck to you.

I am about the same, I have a whole pile of brokers that I have packets with, but there are those few brokers that do the best for me and those are the ones I call when I need them.pigeon river trucking Thanks this.

Brokers have their particular area of interest and expertise. You will most likely have to use multiple brokers. We have been in business for three years, under our own authority, and we have over 150 brokers we have pulled for. You will most likely have to start with TQL, C.H. Robinson and UTi to begin with. As you get more experience, and prove reliable, you will be able to expand your list.
With that said, if you are going to remain regional or local, you may be able to partner with one broker and run a given area. But from my experience, running for one broker is rare these days.Lawrence Cox III and pigeon river trucking Thank this. -
Ok, thank you everyone for your replies. I have made contact with two brokers. I was thinking of getting the wheels rolling with just the two and go from there. I drove several years ago but under a lease. This is all a new ball game here.

I believe they are the ones that told me to contact them after I had been at it for 90 days, they said they didn't work with new carriers.
OP, something to think about, but myself I didn't want to only work with just one or two. If the worst case scenario happens and one of them goes out of business leaving you high and dry, that could be something that bankrupts a guy just getting started. I know its a pain in the ###, but filling out several carrier packets is a good thing, just make sure you read them very carefully, some of them have some real gottcha's in there. There have been a couple that I refused to sign. If you sign up with TQL do not do the direct deposit into your account. If you read the fine print on that, you also authorize them to make any deductions from your account that they feel are necessary.whoopNride, Terry270 and Lawrence Cox III Thank this.
