As said by other I don't have a dog in this fight, but you did come on this forum and ask for opinions/advise. I think the first thing you should do is make arrangement to leave you child with a trusted individual for two weeks. Then get in the truck with hubby and get a better look at what you are trying to throw your child into. Then multiply that by half again. You may come off the road with a totally different picture of trucking.

After being out here for 50 yrs there is no way I would put a child into a truck for more than a few days. To me that would be child abuse.

Cook on the truck. Seriously. MUCH money saved, and MUCH healthier meals.

Mine, too. I'd like him to NOT end up with health issues.

I practically grew up in trucks. My dad drove for a paving outfit when I was young. Used to ride with him once or twice every couple weeks. When I was about 10 or so I used to spend almost my entire summer vacation up in the bush in the logging truck. IMO that's the best way to grow up because it teaches you common sense. Dad and I made a pretty good team.

Why come on here and only wanting advice that fits your plan. There is years and years of drivers giving you advice that you don't want to hear.

Life is about your choices and you seem to be making your own chance.

I don't ONLY want advice that fits our tentative plan. I do want advice from everyone's perspective... otherwise I won't be able to make an educated choice...

Let the toddler learn Krav Maga which is much more fun than horse back riding. She can give those fat boy truckers that block the fuel islands the "touch of death."

lol.. martial arts is definitely one of the classes we will be taking for a physical education credit.. I'm not sure what forms are available in our area, but I will keep my eyes open for Krav Maga when she is old enough to join..
