I know it,they're out there, just have to look.More and more companies are offering regional and dedicated because they need the drivers and some finally realize that home time is important to drivers.Far as local, that depends on the company here I'm seeing most are requiring two years exp because their insurance requires it.it use to be one year.

The big problem with having a toddler in a truck is one that we as drivers have a tendency to overlook. As long as everything is going well the toddler moving around won't seem like a big deal but if something were to happen, and when it does, it happens fast, the toddler would have very low survivability. Anything in that truck that isn't tied down will become a flying projectile, including said toddler. There really isn't much of a way to secure them 20 hours a day that the truck is going down the road. This is the main reason that trucking companies say that a passenger has to be at least 10 years, so they can be seat belted in safely on the passenger seat. It would be very difficult to survive a truck wreck only to find out that your youngster did not. There's a lot that goes into decisions about life on the road and this is one aspect that is best considered at the beginning of the planning.

@Freddy57 That is the best reason given to date that seriously makes me want to wait. Thank you very much for pointing it out.

A few years ago in Tennessee, exit 104, I-65 a truck was getting off the interstate for the truck stop there. The truck rolled over on the ramp and the driver and wife were not hurt, but their baby was missing. Somehow the baby was thrown from the truck and was crushed to death between the trailer and back of sleeper unit. It was a real puzzle as to how the baby was thrown from the truck and ended up outside between the trailer and sleeper, but it did happen.
