Well, good for you but do you think your company was double-billing the customer?

Nah, we've had some technical difficulties in dispatch. They are a bit short handed at the moment and I'm pretty sure the fax that the broker sent changing the drop location (same company other end of Fresno) getting lost was the result of that. Almost cost me a violation on my elog.

As to Dispatch Infallibility, yes, it's actually a psychological mind game... Power struggle... Two fold, one being "I'm in charge here"... Think a drill Sargent in the military... I might have fifty drivers reporting to me and I must keep them in line... If I don't, then they will be in control and I will loose control and organization of this part of the team.

The other is kind of time management... If I am always right then that simplifies the communication as it eliminates a lot of back and forth communications... Plus, if it's useless to point things out to them then drivers just stop trying... Yet another win for the power game...

Police Officers are taught similar tactics of remaining in control of the situation... and one can see similar examples in the White Collar world... Managers who are always right is attempting to control those around them.

    Psychological Warfare!!!

If you know what you are up against, it's easier to break down the barriers between the two parties and even turn the table to your advantage at times.

    Dogtrucker,

Sorry, but I zoned out at around minute 8.
You said a 3 minute video, and that turned into a 13 minute video because you can't seem to keep one thought in your mind.
That thought would be telling a single story in a concise way.
I don't care of past videos that you have made or the stories behind them, I only care about the topic that you are discussing in THIS video. Leave the rest out, and your video would be much more entertaining and informative.

When you plan a video you should do it with more though before you film it.
Storyboard it, setting up the sequence of events and weeding out the fluff that makes it so long.

I will say this. The last company I was with, they were pretty good about information and if it was incorrect, changing it. But it is rare. And as far as dispatchers admitting they are wrong or messed up, good luck. That's another reason I quit. I was told I wasn't doing my job, and needed to step up. I told them bull ####, I have photo proof, its not my fault that you guys cant get your #### together, they still argued with me, so I finally told them to go #### themselves an turned the truck in, cause I will NOT be disrespected like that, then they actually had the gall to say I wasn't disrespected. LMAO. Thank god I turned my keys in for good on 01/04/16, had enough of the ######## and cluster #### out there!!!

Your time, every one of their driver's time, is free. You drive for CPM and any work put into straightening out these mistakes costs them exactly nothing. So that is what it is worth to them. A good laugh at best.

The fact is the dispatch knows what effort you put into 'correcting them' is free. With their degrees, dispatch has nothing but contempt for drivers anyway. They have even more contempt for you as you try to fix 'their problem.' How dare you correct them. Although, it would take them less effort to fix the problem then listen to you, the contempt and disrespect thing gets in their way. This isn't ever going to change. They are all in a office having a good laugh at the driver trying to correct them. Remember as long as your time is free, you will pay for their mistakes. And, they will be laughing all the way to the bank with their salary.

Should a customer problem ever come of it they will just blame the driver. You know, 'it is hard to find good help now days' thing.

Every time I have ever sent a "Direction correction" it has been ignored and the next time I receive load still has incorrect directions..Why?
I mean the directions send driver down a dead end street in a subdivision...but they refuse to change them and even get attitude that I try..
