The current company I have been with for 4 months now has slowly been switching to forced dispatch. Meaning, you don't take what we feed you, you sit for days. You don't call then for a load out they tell you, this day this time. No matter what. Promised a better truck never got one, in 4 months been broke down 10 days total. I've got an offer to go to a smaller outfit. Non forced Dispatch, family owned, and in my town, not an hour drive. I'm nervous to make the switch but I can get my 48 hours home with this place and it's non forced.....so what would you guys who've been around the block say?

Most companies are force dispatch, nothing wrong with that.

What's the different in wages? Insurance, benifts?

If it's dedicated, and u want more stable work, then I'll switch.

But u mention mainly u like the first one because u can take 48 at home. What about the new one?

Why are you nervous about making the switch?I WOULD ask this company if you can take truck home.If you have to drive back and forth in your vehicle that's alot of gas that adds up quick.

Sometimes you gotta take a chance. I would do it. On a side note, i have never worked for a company that wasnt forced dispatch.

Ya I was going to say careful what you wish for... I hate reefer myself I think it's a pain and for 2cpm extra IMO wouldn't be worth it...

I guess the only way would be to try it out...

Do you think if you switch and don't like it you could go back to your current company?

    NavigatorWife and TigerShark Thank this.
