Grab your measure tape. If u forgot to even put one in your toolbox, use your shoe to measure

8ft from the rear of your trailer is typically the best hole for your tandems to be at

What STexan said. They'll make you rework a load at a scalehouse. Big headache!
You're empty? No problem weight-wise, but you still have to be at 40 feet or less. If you get loaded in CA scale the load and make sure you're legal going out. You'll still have to be at no more than 40 feet with a 53.

Hmmm ... do you mean there are no markings on the side of the trailer? Just get a cheap tape measure, measure 40 from the kingpin, mark the trailer, and slide the tandem so the CENTER of the rear axle is under the mark. Don't forget to lock the slide.

Bean Jr. and Javier T Thank this.
