Back in April 2007, when I got out of truck school. Gordon was the place to go, local, heavy haul, regional all possible as a student. Great training program, wish I would of picked them over May Trucking. Boy have times changed in a short amount of time.....If these posts are true that is.

Well when I worked at May, we got the leftover scraps from GTI since they got the knee pads on when it comes to GP loads. I think the only core customer May had was those 300 mile 2 stop 2 day Jeld Wen loads. The rest back burner dry grocery loads. So you probably would have been better off going there. But all these OTR training company's are just revolving doors now. Sooner or later they will plug in a cheaper driver and have you begging for miles. No points and less per mile cost is what they want not someone who has heard it all and will call out a desk jockey when they start their game playing.

But if you are willing to live out of your truck for a month or longer they will probably throw you a few scraps to put in your sheet on a stick. Then you can come here and say how great they are for giving you the opportunity to live out of a box smaller then a jail cell for 35k per year.

And they can say chain required all they want, not a problem you chain up roll a few feet and call safety and tell them it is unsafe to continue. No one can force you to drive when you do not feel you have the ability to do so safely. Personally I would rather chain all winter long then fight that Wyoming wind with a light load. And my motto is it is better to arrive late then to not arrive at all. And the last thing I need any where near my truck in the winter is some driver who thinks chaining a truck is only to get somewhere safe.

I would look them in the eye and wish them the best of luck as I am cleaning my truck out. No way in HELL am I going to help a "supposed" company get out of the crapper which was put there by people obviously in over their heads. I will do my job and help them grow. We are simple truck drivers and the gall of them to tell a driver something like that is only topped by those willing to help them.

You want to preach to me about me about not being a team player? Go ahead while I offer my services to a company that knows what they are doing. There's a couple of them out here.

Down here in Portland, anything involving ANY paperplant is Gordons leftovers....When I worked with Knight, it was the same thing. Gordons scraps going to SoCal or Vegas was all they ever gave you. Never failed, coming off home time was always the same story. Pick-up at GP off Lombard...Deliver Vegas.

May....that is just too easy. I was on the reefer side so I ran the 48, the good miles were going east.......The rest, good luck! Always had fun being a Salem, OR driver sitting in Orlando for 4 days at the complete opposite end of the country. If I was lucky running up and down 95 for weeks on end...

I was working at GTI. I passed the hair folicle test unlike anyone else in my orientation group. Just because I shaved all the hairs on my body and then had hair transplants. So I was working there and taking a break at the Medford, Oregon terminal and connected to the wifi spanking the monkey. Then found out they were monitoring what I was doing on their wifi! Now I know to use Verizon 4g LTE.

Years ago there was a waiting list of drivers that wanted to work or Gordon. It seems the best OTR in the PNW is Interstate Dist.
