I am Seventh Day Adventist and won't be able to drive from sunset friday to sunset saturday I am wondering if I talk to a recruiter and he says he can grant me this how do I know for sure I will be granted it? That he ain't lying to me so he can recruit me.

Shouldn't be an issue, just aim for regional and let them know that. Tell them you have to do a weekly reset at home from Friday to Sun Morning. Are you experienced?

recruiter can't grant you anything that's up to your dispatcher. All recruiter does is hires people. He can reccomend it to corporate. But once youre hired that would be for dispatch to decide.I don't see why you can't but I'm not dispatch either. If he is fine with that just make sure to remind him a couple days ahead of time each week.

Many Regional drivers who are home every weekend often don't get done until Friday night or early Saturday morning. Even as a local, home-nightly driver, I occasionally work past sunset on Friday (especially in the winter when days are shorter). I hate to say it, but trucking may just be against your religion.

I imagine this might be a problem at many carriers. I suspect you're going to have to be very careful in your selection of employers, especially in the trucking business. They may act like they can accommodate this, but at some point, something is going to come up and somebody is going to have to make a tough choice.

If you are being recruited into a large training carrier, be aware that your religious beliefs mean exactly jack crap to the company. Their only concern, and I do mean ONLY, is moving freight. Faith, family, health, compliance with the regulations if they can get away with it...all that takes a back seat to the freight in the trailer.

That trailer load of toilet paper is far, FAR more important than your relationship with God, driver.

I don't think it will be an issue with the right company, but like the others above mentioned it could change. Are you experienced or do you need training? Where are you located? What type of trailer do you want to pull?

On a second note- Do you have to be home? Or would you be willing to respect your Sabbath while relaxing in the sleeper?

    Mike2633 and G13Tomcat Thank this.
