22 years never been checked for dye. Only seen signs at the Elko check station on I-80 for checking...but no dipping....figures!
Who's accidentally put offroad diesel in their truck? (yes an accident)

Montana is the one that likes to dip the tanks. In 3 years I have been checked 4 times. Twice in the scales and twice in a roadside. We had a slip tank on our 5500 dodge and I would put red dye in there to fill the equipment and if I had a long trip I would pump out as much as I could and then fill with regular diesel. I know that there was some left there in the tank but after adding 100 gallons it was so diluted that you could not tell.

At the north platte eb Poe they were checking a few years ago for it. Haven't seen them check since.

I got dipped in northern Minnesota on vacation. In my dodge pickup. I was only 1200 miles from my farm tank.

Mistakes happen, it's only because your human, only difference in the fuel is the die. No extra suffer ,back when it was a big deal they pulled a lot of the lube out along with octane properties, cat engines injection pumps where dropping like flies, cat introduced higher pump pressures, which had more friction ,less lube in the fuel resulted in barrels going down in the injection pump. Since then I add a little ATF or a little clean ( as I can get it) used oil to the fuel, this lubes the injection pump on the older engines. 3406's .Have not lost an injection pump due to dry fuel. By the way used oil will mask out the die.

I say, Get yourself to a Catholic Church and go into one of them "tell you want I did bad" booths. Let the Good Father forgive you because the IRS won't.
Accidents are a reflection of your inner most desires. You obviously have some issues of a deep feelings for someone that you have not been able to satisfy. Now, lie down and tell me, when did you first wish to use the wrong hose? -
I'll also agree that in my 10 years OTR, I have never had my fuel/tanks checked.
I also did the same thing running a hotshot once. It was a dually with only the factory tank. I was somewhere out in the boonies in Texas & getting low on fuel, so I stopped in this little mom & pop truck stop with gravel parking & pulled up to the diesel pump, lifted the handle & pumped it full. Probably 25 gallons, I don't remember. Once full, I turned around to hang the nozzle up & there was the sign right there on the pump: "Off Road Fuel". I turned around, got in the truck & pulled up close to the store, went inside, paid & got the heck outta there. I was scared to death for the next several tank fulls, until I was pretty sure it was all gone & undetectable. I just knew that, my luck, I was going to run right in to a fuel checker somewhere up the road for the first time ever. But, fortunately, it didn't happen. Learned to pay attention from then on at those little country mom & pop stores. -
And try to avoid Georgia Scales until you get it out. They check for that pretty regularly.
