The purpose for this thread (assuming), is to show newcomer Schneider driver and driver who are thinking about choice, that it's not all about money. Everybody wants to become rich quick without the hard work.

How many countless post we seen about how they want to lease or become an o/o without experience because "money" was the goal.

There goal should be the freedom and desire to successfully run a business. Yet they don't understand that running a business require sacrifice like making less than a company driver for awhile before plans and ideas falls in place to the success.

Thanks to those who informed my curiosity.
I was merely trying to compare a driver who receives benifits and has no responsibility to create the environment with an IC who pays for their own benifits and has to pay for and maintain their work environment.
Now the next comparison would be the O/O who has to find their loads and pays for ALL aspects such as plates, insurance, etc.
On observation, and from someone who does not pay for any of their operational environment, it appears that an IC does have an increase in personal net (varying from slight to moderate) but has the responsibility and exposure. It also sounds like the freedom to run where, when, and how is a major benifit to drivers that should be factored.
That freedom is not without a measure of "nuts in the vice".

Hey guys here's a tip . Find a wife . Even if you have to put an ad out . One that can hold a steering wheel . For a few hundred miles a day . You'll do so much better with less work on your hands .

I'm with freightwipper and rickybobby, took exactly 100 days off last year, earned $144K gross income. Even then I had truck payments to make, only $1,220/month, but still. The more we work, the higher our expenses and tax bills are. Lately increasing fuel prices and lower FSC is making a dent in my pursuit of happiness.

You know, Eddy, you sound like you have an agenda we're not getting. You want people to just say how much net income they earned, right here in front of everybody? You might not be old enough or experienced enough to remember working for labor unions, but I am. In the Union, you didn't tell anybody how much your check was. We avoided some serious disputes that way. I'm still pretty private about it, and I think a lot of people are. I don't wonder why you're asking, because I don't care. But if you're a nark, good luck on that.
