Just my two cents worth, there are no laws out here to protect drivers or their pay. I'd leave skid marks getting out of there and find a better company.

A big loss is that fuel surcharge only covers fuel burnt under dispatched miles. All fuel for idling, out of route miles or the 10% discrepancy between book miles and actual miles is paid for with no surcharge assistance. This is huge and most operators never realize it.

Zip to zip routing vs actual miles-number one scheme.
Not paying detention pay, chaining up/down, layover pay, breakdown pay.

Well lets see,you don't get reimbursed for tolls or scales, they charge you for rd brkdown because you're accused of doing something to the trk.Doesn't reimburse for supplies you need.Dosnt reimburse for lumpers if by chance the company doesn't use checks on lumpers. All of what I mentioned happened to me.You live and learn by your mistakes to not let it happen again.

Layover.... Especially when you are under load! Set for 20hours, get a dispatch saying D&H this trailer 200miles away, 2 days from now. You literally sit for 48hrs, but they don't pay layover due to you being "under load".

Get another company and make sure to call department of labor as you walk in to tell them you quit.
