    I just looked this up. "US law does not require employers to grant any vacation or paid holidays" It goes on to say that 25% of all employee receive no paid vacation or paid holidays

    Its one of those "duh" type things but when someone is so adamant about something, you start doubting your own sanity. My ex made me feel that way...

    I think if we lived in a country where paid vacation was mandated by the government, I might actually start believing there's some truth to all these nutties saying we live in a socialist country.

    But...no. No soup for you!

    In Germany I got paid 30 days vacation per year for a 5 day work week = 6 weeks paid vacation as a truck driver But wages were low....
    And Germany is not a socialist country...

    No but anytime american tax money is used or the suggestion of its use is to go towards a better quality of life, such as healthcare, education, sick days, etc, there's always someone shouting "Socialism". Doesn't mean its the truth or the case. Just our good ole redblood being patriotic

    if you can think back to your 3rd grade 'Merican history, it was President Ben Franklin who mandated in the Franklin Doctrine that we get 5 days off guaranteed.

    My last boss started throwing my stuff into the bed of my pickup. I just laughed because I knew I'd never have to see him again and he has to put up with himself every day. The kicker though was when the only other driver quit two weeks later. The boss was running around like a chicken with his head cut off during 100F weather doing flatbed work with no AC!
