Sorry to be Frank but having pet will limit your choice. By having the pet you options are more slim vs not having a pet. So just because they won't allow pets in the cab isn't shame on them. I for one don't want pets in our semis either.

What do you do when you get to a shipper/reciver that won't allow animals on the property?

We had a driver a few weeks ago get turned away at a chemical plant in Wichita. The guard refused to let him enter to even turn around. Told him to back out onto the road. The driver had to get his supervisor involved so he didn't have to back out into traffic.

The not letting you load is one thing. The not letting you in to turn around is BS. What a bunch of a-holes.

I was getting loaded at a coil place once. Security asked if I had any animals. I said ya a small dog. She asked if I was sure and winked at me. So I said just kidding. She then told me not to bark too loud.

We showed up at the wrong power plant with a couple of counter weight loads once, the gate was a little off the road so we both were able to get in. They wouldn't let us in to turn around and told me good luck backing out. So I called their office and spoke with safety, I told them if I caused an accident backing out I would make sure their company was named in the law suit. A few minutes later they opened the gates.

I used to load steel coils out of a plant in south AL for 3 years. Another driver told me a few months ago they had a no pets policy! Wow. My dogs and I never knew!!!
