Yeah, because if you couldn't make it as a company driver, you'll surely make it as a owner op

    Agreed MVT bites...

They pay less than central transport even...25 to 50 bucks less for thier line hauls..
Complained to the lady that answers the phone about her deceptive ads, all she responds with is "have a nice day"...mass posting piece of craps lookin for all the .25 cent a mile drivers, as there is a plenty of them out there...
MVT is part of the reason trucking stinks now mostly

Not totally true I work work swift and they treat me like a person . When I call to complain lol, before I even say anything I get a how you doing james don't know if they have my numbered saved or what and this is from multiple driver leaders and planners not just my driver manager. If you prove yourself and do your job safely and be on time with deliveries you can make any company profitable.

I'd have to agree. I've worked for two companies in 4+ years. A starter company with a horrible reputation and a good company with a solid reputation. Within three months of being at my first company, while most drivers were complaining about miles, home time or whatever else I was put on a dedicated fleet. From my experience, the drivers that are always on time, don't wreck stuff and don't get tickets, quickly become a valuable commodity to a company. Just takes the first ninety days for them to see what kinda driver you are.

Job hoping is hurting you more than the extra ten hour break you had to take, or not getting detention pay. As others have said, there's no such thing as a prefect company.

Been at MVT since 2009. First as a company driver, now as an owner operator. (I bought the first company truck they gave me... It had 7 miles on it when I got it! 940k now!) They have always kept me rolling. Do they "suggest" you run harder by turning yourself on 10hrs or getting creative with your logging? Of course. That's their job. But, YOU are driving the truck. YOU decide when to start driving or not. Just because a voice on the end of a phone, or a message in the PeopleNet tells you to get moving, doesn't mean YOU HAVE to! Man up and just say "NO"! Once they clue in on the professional way you operate, they change their attitude and start working WITH you! They have no choice!
