Driving 600 miles a night in a straight line gets pretty boring too lol I'd just stick with fedex and get a Cdl through them unless you just know you can't move up
Can't decide, need advice - P&D to LTL?

Yeah it's a tough call. Giving me a headache just thinking about it. Thanks for your input.
Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
If the ABF terminal where you live is busy like the one in Chicago Heights, IL, I would go for it. They never sit and stay busy. Pay is good and free benefits.

That's true too .

You mentioned you know someone in ABF. Maybe ask him for some more info on the inside scoop, as to if they keep you busy or not. If they do, I would GO FOR IT.

how long have you worked at FedEx? what kind of role does seniority play? your p&d transfer to the big trucks? I'd stay unless abf is light years ahead with regard to Linehaul etc. I doubt it is.

Think of this too with your current job you probably get home nightly and off weekends going from that to 24/7 on call running different routes every night and being tired all the time! After a couple months of that you'll probably be wishing you had never left and just stayed to move up at FedEx.

I've worked for them for 3 years. Seniority is everything when it comes to bidding for open routes. As it would be in ltl. I think I am just gonna grind my teeth right now and stick with em. I can't risk the ltl not working out. Trying to build a family and what not. I've looked around and it seems that abf is one of the top companies. But that vacation policy they have is what made me decide to stay. No vacation untill 2 years worked. Then I get a week. I get my second week after 8 yrs. That's insanely terrible. Anyways, thanks for everyone's input. I appreciate it
