What about the part where he initialed the fact he witnessed them torque the drain plug?
I normally service my own truck, if I don't have time and need to do it on the road Speedco is where it will be done at, because I can be right there with my truck making sure everything is done properly.Arky, mtoo, Razorwyr and 1 other person Thank this. -
Like you i only use shops for pms when i didn't have time at home. The boss shops let you stay with the truck also. And much cheaper. 199.99 for a full service pm. I would never take my truck to a place that won't let me stay near it to watch over things.Last edited: May 6, 2016
Oscar the KW, CJndaTruck and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
Well I asked him the same thing...didn't you witness the torque? He said this particular time he didn't watch them an I'm assuming they didn't ask either.
An I can believe it because there have been on a few occasions where I've been to the shop for pm an they didn't even show me the dipstick nor the re torque.
Fortunately nothing was out of orderRazorwyr and CJndaTruck Thank this. -
Shoot, they can walk. I'm not far enough out right now, I'd like to be about 5 or 10 miles out of town and a little more land, but I guess the upside is the store is only 3 miles away.CJndaTruck Thanks this.

When we bought this house one of the main factors in the decision was my wife's eyesight being so poor that driving isn't safe for her, and the elementary school is only a couple hundred yards away with the high school and middle school being just under a mile. A mile past that is publix who delivers groceries if needed. At the time we had one in high school and 1 about to start kindergarten. And its a great school system. About as good as you can get especially since sarasota military academy buses out of the community center next door to the middle school. Really nice having that option of a good private school. The only draw back was not being able to park the truck here, but with our farm 40 miles away, that's not that big of a deal. Now if we could find a decent school system up north id move in a heart beat. But all the public schools up there are bad and the good private ones are ridiculous. I looked into the catholic high school i went to in Ohio but their tuition fees today are nearly 20 grand a year, and i won't get the poor people's super cheap almost free discount my parents did. We could probably swing it but i really really really don't want to live in northern ohio again.Last edited: May 6, 2016

Yeah, you have to take the schools and health into account. I guess I'm just lucky in those departments. The schools are really good here, a little too nosey, but good at teaching.

There have been times when the person servicing my truck neglected to inform me he was torquing my plugs. I've had them do it again while I watched. They've never given me any trouble. I usually have to initial that I saw it , so if a plug comes out, I assume I'm screwed. I would have a difficult leaving a shop not knowing for sure that my plugs were tight.

Rush Peterbilt, $130 bucks an hour, and I can't walk into the shop and ask a question. That's only one of reasons Thompson Cat did my overhaul. They had no problem with me talking to the mechanic.
