So I'm having anxiety about Backing... How difficult is it for someone that has never driven a truck? I'm watching YouTube videos and they make it seem easy but for me I'm a bit nervous about it. I know I will need plenty of practice. Any pointers or words of encouragement before I get started?

Just remember to take your time and always be aware of things on your blindside.... The longer the trailer the easier it is to back

And backing toward the drivers' side whenever you can will always be preferable. It's easier to see.

In a straight line, that would be true. A longer trailer reacts slower to steering wheel movements, but this is also a double edged sword as some tighter delivery locations will reveal.

You can never do that too many times, but it only takes forgetting to do it once before having an accident.

You answered your own concern. Practice, practice, practice. I've been out here a little over 4 years and I didn't get really good at it until...well, I'm shooting for the end of this year.

Buy grand theft auto 5 or sit in your kids room in your underwear playing it.

I showed the noobs all time while my truck was in the shop for a checkup in Joplin at the Holiday Inn.

Helps a bunch to see it from a third person perspective. You'll have a good idea how to correct things and setup better.

The producer was on freewheeling getting ideas for 6 so I believe it will help kids get more interested in driving trucks. Even I enjoy trying to squeeze it in Lester's warehouse with a car on your left light pole preventing pull ups and a curb to your right.

I even made this one guy turn the stick in circles to imitate the wheel. Thanked me for it we still chat thru social media.

But if you fiddle around with that you'll have a better idea. No cabovers!!!!
    You take the Pete !
    Or the Volvo.
But the Pete is more challenging. Just like real life.

    FLYMIKEXL Thanks this.

CDL school there also? If so that is a good one. Just be open minded and don't psych yourself out. I have had days where I can't backup in a empty Walmart parking lot and other days I can blindside back into the tightest docks fine. Just take your time and look, look and look.
