That video shows the Mexican Do Seh Do. See it a lot on two lane roads in Texas.

This is by far the best post on this thread regarding how to make a decision whether to pass or bide your time. Figure out whether the truck ahead of you pulls hills faster or slower than you. Figure out if they run faster downhill. Assess oncoming traffic so you don't hold anyone up.

    Patience is a virtue.

I agree that was the best post on proper passing, not just because you can now, but will you be able to maintain in front of that truck without causing him to adjust and pass you back.

Proper passing technique after 2 snail racing trucks do it wrong

I was out West on a Saturday night round 2am their time. I can't count the number of times there are cars in back of me that obviously just closed a bar and using me to get home and riding my ###.

One second I see lights in back of me. Then a gator. Then no lights in back of me.

camionneur, scottied67 and Lepton1 Thank this.

If what one swift driver told me is true, then they have done at least one thing right with thier trucks.. While rolling against the governor, if they double tap and hold down the accelerator it gives them another 5 mph to pass. It can be used for up to 30 mins per 24 hour period. Couple minutes here and there throughout the day. True or not, that's something I wish I had in my 62 mph truck.

Unless everyone has to pee. It's an odd statement... Typical though (as opposites attract, and patience attracts impatience).

What gets me is that people are most impatient in the morning, when they're all fresh and well rested (I know, today was supposed to be different). Ah yes, trucking is different that way, we leave the past in front of us...
