I just turned in my trip report .... 4,400 miles in one week. At .50 / mile that'll be $2,200 in a week! Usually I get about 3,000/week at Poly.
When I chose the load, I believe they only gave me 2 choices, but most companies don't give any choices.
For 4,400 miles I went from G.P. to Denver to Pittston to NC and back to Ft. Worth. During the whole time the co. never F'd with me. Had I been at Millis I would have been worn out from people sending me q-comm messages and my camera being on me.
(I remember one message Millis sent me. Call safety NOW!
When I called some idiot in safety said theres a guy in his car on the phone wanting to know why I keep moving back into the right lane after I pass another truck. )
I have to admit, I was afraid to send a ready for dispatch until I got back to G.P. and made it past the mechanics.
I was afraid they'd tell me to shop the truck and then I'd be stuck with a loaner that probably wouldn't work.![]()
As far as break downs, I haven't had one since International came out with their newer diagnostic software several months ago. My truck used to break down every day for a parked system regen.
These Internationals are pretty UNcomfortable though. Every morning I wake up, I step on those bolts that poke through the floor and are covered by just a thin rubber mat. The bed seems cramped as hell and there's no storage.
Once I woke up at night in severe pain. I kicked the steel tv stand with my foot. It hurt for weeks. I must have cracked the bone in my heel??
International has too many steel things near the bed, including the steel thing that surrounds the mattress to keep the mattress in place. I think KW and F'liner used plastic so if you slip and land on it you won't break your tail bone.
That's the only thing I miss about Millis, they had nice comfy trucks.
Here at Poly I just got reimbursed for $300 worth of authorized hotels. Took 2 months for reimbursement !!!
Poly still hasn't gotten Pre-pass or E-Z pass.

You watch to many tv in the break room.
Get a loaner truck. -
-
Can you do that with a elog truck?
-
Easier said than done. In my 2 years there, loaners were in short supply most of the time. Then the one you may find, is lucky to get out of town before it dies. My worst time was 3 loaners dying in 1 day, and the 4th(which was the last one available) had a coolant leak in the sleeper's heater core, and Cummins doesn't have shutoff valves, so I went thru 2 gallons of coolant/day just to run a load to Villa Rica, then to Birmingham and back to the DFW area.tahokid Thanks this.

Had to resign in late February due to some family stuff I had to take care of but got it all taken care of now. Hopefully restarting in June. Got to go through orientation stuff again but looking forward to getting back on the road.
