Great Plains Transport - A company that cares about drivers... NO BS.

Just goes on next check... I'll admit that is kind of a drawback, usually I'm lucky to even get a 2000+ miler let alone a 3000 mile run....then again this year has generally sucked for freight

 

I don't see Freight levels pick it back up with the economy until after the election.... Generally economies are unstable an election year but this is the worst I've seen it in a long time and with the uncertainty coming November a lot of businesses are kind of in a holding pattern right now hopefully it takes off after that we need it to

 

Gpt and the way it I is. great place to work if youlike: babysitting, teaching, and correcting someone else's work. It turns out that operations doesn't no what they are doing. So the driver ends up planning the loads as well as the trip. It gets old really quick. And the pay is pretty low. They have a massive amount of debt. And they are having a lot of trouble being on time with the loads. Don't really see them staying in business much longer running like this.

 

One more thing. Don't believe anything Mike says.

 

Perhaps one of Holland's competitors will swoop in buy GPT.

 

I doubt it. They have very few accounts. 90% broker loads. And due to the late load issue. They can't get any new accounts. I mostly feel bad for the founder.

 

How would you know how much debt they have?... you looking at their books?

Not only that, but there's the "recovery" which hasn't been much of a recovery.

 

I doubt it.... . I don't think Bob & Mike will let that happen, at least I hope not. I'm seeing a lot of new stuff coming in so they can't be doing that bad... I know I've pissed and moaned about stuff here but they also pretty much had to start new. Besides that I'm not ready to throw in the towel at this point.
