It goes in gear just bumping it with your knee? Then the Clutch and brakes both failed??? Its getting deep in here..

I was in the yard of a huge commercial company (will not say any names), looking at their used trucks for sale. When I say 3 trucks were involved is because when the truck I was in (parked) moved forward it hit the truck in front of me making that truck hit the one in front of it. Only two trucks had minor damage to the bumper and one to the grill. No police were called. I did not fall onto the gear, my knee just accidentally barely hit the gear and the truck just jumped forward into motion. Their insurance company contacted me by email. But I should also say that after the incident happened I went with the employee that was with us to an "office", I waited close to 30 minutes waiting to know what was going to what happens next and no one said anything. After a while the same employee returns and acts surprised to still see us there. I told him I was waiting on him so I could know what next and his words where they told him to just go fix them (replace the two bumpers) and that we could leave. That happened last Thursday and I received the email Monday. I have not replied yet because I need to know how to protect myself. I called a few lawyers but I was told unless I get sued (or hurt)they cannot help me yet. Last wrench in this mess of a puzzle is they only have my first and last name and an email address. I do want to do the right thing but as I stated in a previous post, I do not feel I am 100 liable.
Thanks for the feedback. -
That did it. Email lawyers, Email insurance etc. UGH.
Well, for what it's worth let us all know what the final outcome is. Im moving on. -
He said he pushed in clutch and brake pedals. But, I guess it could be one of those three pedal semi-automatics they made for a while.

Not a single part is this story is even possible. You barely bumped the shifter and it went into gear (not happening)- and then, the force of the truck going forward hit another truck and pushed that truck into the truck in front of it? Stop. I've actually accidentally left my truck in gear (an automatic, when forced to drive one a couple times) and set my brakes and that truck doesn't move an inch. We're supposed to believe this story?
C'mon. Come clean. We're here for you. Tell us what really happened. No one knows who you are. -
Dear penthouse, i never thought it would happen to me......Joetro, sevenmph and bowhunter67 Thank this. -
I never said the truck was automatic,it has a manual transmission.i have been driving for the last 11 years, I know how crazy it sounds but I have no reason to lie. No one here knows me no reason to not say the truth. I have never been in a situation like this before. Part if me wants to let it go since they only have my first and lay name (good thing I don't have a common name) but I don't want this to catch up with me later on. That is why I am seeking advise on what to do. I don't mind paying something but not all. the main thing is I don't want it to affect my cdl. As for the trucks they were parked in a truck yard.the impact was never high speed (thank God) but all trucks were parked behind each other which caused a bit of a domino effect.
