Sleepers in OTR trucks

When you get your truck get a new mattress. Tell them allergies or something if you have to. I refused to sleep after the dirty mofo in my first truck. Kept my new matters going into the second truck.

 

So comfortable that I forget where I am. Back in the day I would have to get on the radio and ask where I was located. Now, I have to find me on the GPS. I have never been in the house that can get as cold as the AC can in my truck. 100 degrees outside and she can almost keep ice cream from melting.

 

Naw, they won't be in there long enough to care if your sheets are silk.

 

One of you more tech savvy guys should post a few pics of nice clean sleepers for the OP.

 

All otr companies have sleepers.They are not going to pay for a room every night and no they are not comfortable.I had a backache for weeks.Matresses have no support.Picture yourself sleeping on a board..I highly recommend getting a soft matress pad and/or memory foam.You'll never go without after your first night of peaceful sleep.Its like sleeping on a cloud.

The 579 reminds me of Business Class on Emirates Airlines.

 

Always get a new mattress for that sleeper. Never use the old one if the truck is issued to you.

Disinfect the living space and cab.

It's your home away from home. When done right you are going to sleep better aboard than at home. I do.

You make a number of blankets, very large and long pillows where you can build a nest if you have to plus a sleeping bag as well. Your life may depend on that sleeping bag in the dead of winter with absolutely no other option.

You are going to have several cases of quality water, food and a cooler (Or a proper freezer box) plus a television with vcr etc and whatever else suits your fancy such as a laptop.

The secret to a good sleeper is having everything secured so that if you hit a bad bridge at speed everything stays put.
