I have known drivers to do that for a surprisingly long time. I suppose the
penalties would vary. The problem I see is if you are involved in any type
of accident, you will be absolutely at fault. Even if you are not in any way
    responsible for the incident.

I have wondered already with all the stories we hear of fake ID's etc.
Could a kid with a computer actually create a new ID for me? Give me
a current CDL with valid Medical Card. In theory if the new ID is registered
correctly with the Federal Database how could you be in trouble. If
all info appears correct who would ever investigate? When the
officer asks for my ID he runs the CDL number, if no red flags he gives
it back. He doesn't actually do any real checking on who I really am.

If I lose my Medical Card I lose everything, job, career, house, etc.
So I pay some kid for a "new start" and run a few more years.......
at some point I get caught and than lose everything.........just a thought.

I tell the doctors/nurse practitioners that I have high bp and type 2 diabetes. All they every say is, "who's your doctor and what meds do you take?"
Maybe the feds are asking doctors to target certain things. All those certified DOT testers have to pay $500 and attend a class to be on the list.

Simply not true. I am not advocating lieing on the form but my form is good for two years. The medicines I am prescribed by doctors vary from time to time. Quite possible I am taking different medicine now than when when I had my physical. It isn't illegal.

Glad to hear you got it handled, but you still might want to consider making some lifestyle changes before this catches up too close to you.

On a related note, I guess it passed by my notice undetected that you actually don't have to carry your medical card with you any longer. As long as it's on file with the DMV self certification it's electronically visible to the DOT in all 50 states as of Jan 30, 2015. I just got a new one done last week after 1 year 11 months on the old one and found all that out.

Whatever prescription drugs you are on go into your medical history, and now with ACA your history is on a national data base. Even if you lie about whatever meds you have taken or on, if an accident happens, even a fender bender and lawyers get involved, I can guarantee the ambulance chasers will be digging into every little detail about your medical and driving history. If they find you gave false info and passed the physical, those lawyers will screw you even worse than the DOT.

I'd just go to another doctor to get my physical.

I passed my physical on May 20th, got a 2 year card and just found out Indiana hasn't approved it yet, safety faxed it to them twice and have confirmation they received it,
Now I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for Indiana to call me and tell me the reason.
At least I'm at home and there is the holiday coming up.
Update; I got the call, they're missing a form, I walked it in to our BMV, no idea how long it'll take for them to make it valid again, but I do t care as I am home (and should be doing my chores)

No there are rules, some are just gestapo about it, while others ( Schneider for instance ) use an extremely weak policy to skirt the issue, and I think most mega's do, because if they get serious like CEMEX and the teamsters are, they would lose at least half their drivers.

I over cooked my steak, and blame you.

I had a guy forget to check a box on the peripheral vision once. Here comes the letter from ADOT with like 10 days to go before my old one expires. I wasn't sure which box to check, so took a day off work, drove down to him, " Oh I'm so sorry.", he checks box, I drive it down to the medical records department at ADOT.
