We had one terminal the dock doors were so close together you couldn't fit your body in to work the landing gear handle. Guy were constantly breakiing off the trailer doors of pre-docked trailers too.
What I would do is drop the trailer a few feet out from the docks lower landing gear, put 2 or 3 2x4's on top of the 5th wheel, drop suspension and back under, hook up red and lift suspension then back the trailer up or pull the trailer out whichever was needed.
Here's some real world backing.

Most landing gear has an articulated handle. It can be cranked from under a trailer.
I have had to do this several times, even to crank UP a 44K load because it was too low to hitch. Good cardio workout!

Not a drop, but one receiver has four docks so close together the trailer doors are touching! The red/green lights are down below the doors! The yellow dock lines are flared out to allow truck mirror clearance from one another!

You lower it before you get all the way in just leaving enough clearance not to drag the feet. Then once your in lower it the rest of the way.
I also drop a little low so when the driver that's picking it ( whether it me or someone else) up backs under ,it lifts enough so it will be easy to turn while crouched under the trailer .
By the way when doing this make sure to account for the downward slope if it has one, you'll need to to crank it a few extra times so as not to catch the feetLast edited: Jun 29, 2016

You get drop the landing gear down just enough to barely clear the ground, finish backing in those last 15ft, and dump your suspension. If you're really lucky, you'll also have an air 5th wheel release

Bah... just realized Badboyy0121 beat me to it lol
