I understand. Night driving isn't for everyone.

Just to further illustrate my point regarding pay. Here are my real world numbers for the month of June.

    Miles: 9245
    Pay: $5395.35
    Days worked: 22
    Days off: 8

As you can see, we don't run a ton of miles. That's due to being a regional company. But, do the math and it converts to over .58 cpm. I actually make .45 cpm. Just goes to show you the power of all that stop pay we get. And, again, notice the days worked and the off days. Home 2 days every week makes me a happy dude. :)

And, just to be clear. I don't always choose the best words. Just because I thought my old company was a "crap hole", that doesn't mean it is for everyone, nor does it mean Poly is for anyone.

Opinions, you know, are like... Everyone has one. lol

Anyway, hope my previous post didn't come across as bashing anyone for their choice of company. That wasn't my intent. I just notice a lot of folks get concentrate on only cpm and miles, and that doesn't always tell the whole story. Nor, does it necessarily convert to a nice, consistent paycheck.

Can only go on my last 6 months of pay before switching over to a more regional gig (Jan. 1, 2015-june 30, 2015) but taking that info we are in the same ball park of pay per mile. We generally are running more miles than you but you are spending more time at home.

    Miles: 70186
    Pay (Gross): 40124.63
    Pay (Net): 34096.17
    Days off: 32
    0.572 cents/mile

Nothing but props to you guys running reefers and flatbedding gigs but no way could I put up with the delays of the one and the extra labor of the other:)

We don't have delays. Almost 100% of my loads are preloaded. I do have a lot of live unloads (stores), but am generally in and out in 15-20 mins. That's because we take priority over other vendors.

p.s. What regional gig do you have? Poly? I thought they were only 48.

Btw, I don't think I"d want to work for Poly, but you Poly drivers are a friendly bunch. I enjoy this thread, and the one driver I talked to in South Carolina. :)

From what Ive heard since Ive left there, Poly is turning into a sewer.. Guys are leaving that have been there for years. And are doing good to average 50 to 55 K.. I gave up a while back and I dont regret it. Never get home, my last month there I got one paycheck... the last 2 had to clear the following month.. Allot of smoke and mirrors there with folks that could care less.
