I have a code that came up and derates the truck. The code is SPN 5394 fmi 5. "Aftertteatment def dosing valve current below normal or open circuit" Anyone been through this before? Its a cummins isx

check resistance on the dosing valve, should be 11 to 18 ohms, if you dont have that, replace it. if its within spec. checked the wiring from the DEF controller connector to the dosing valve, pin 12 and 32 on the DEF controller go to the dosing valve, you can check resistance from controller to the valve. let me know if you need more advice, should be a pretty easy fix. to change it is really simple, just pinch off the coolant lines so you dont have to drain the cooling system.

Unfortunately, i changed the doser it didnt help, checked all the connections everything seems fine. Kind of running out of options

Sorry i forgot to update the post, issue has been resolved. I did the right thing by changing the doser. I had a theory that after changing the doser i would fully power down the truck with the kill switch so it would kind of reset the ecm. Turns out you have to go in the ecm via the computer and delete the code for it to fully clear the old code. My friend cleared it and its running good so far.
