I wouldn't use the stuff. Figure out some other way to stay awake.

 

Where did he say he was using it to stay awake?

 

The description above cites the labeled use for treatment of ADHD and narcolepsy. I am betting the doctor didn't give it to him because he is figity in class, but for the narcolepsy. Maybe the doctor wants him to use it a cognitive enhancer, but I think we can also rule out athletic performance enhancer.
I am not a doctor, but I play one on TV.

 

Prescribed primarily for ADD/ADHD. That's why I had it. And I was well beyond the fidgeting in class stage of my life. Lol

I respectfully disagree with you on this matter. Here's why. Every test you take on adderal will cause you to pop hot. Sure, you have a prescription for it so you'll get away with it for awhile. But what eventually will happen (especially if you're using your company paid insurance policy's prescription plan to pay for it) is someone will notice it. Then they'll look into it. Then the nasty letters will start.

It's a problem medication in the trucking industry. I personally, have no issues with it. I have no issues with any medication that helps a person. I'm a firm believer in better living thru chemistry. Lol. Trust me, I don't judge. But adderal is one that will show up on a urine screen. That means you BETTER self certify ( yes, you should self certify ALL meds). When you self certify you're company WILL find out. That's when the problems start

Hey, I've said my peace on this. I'm respectfully bowing out now. I understand your opinion on this, and believe it or not, we don't actually disagree. I just know that this particular med is one that will cause you problems sooner rather than later. Again, I don't agree with it because I know it helps many people and I don't think that's fair. But it is what it is

 

I was vaguely aware of Adderall but when Lindsay Lohan was supposed to do some drug rehab time and threw a fit that she couldn't take her Adderall it reminded me of that old Texas congressman alcoholic who wouldn't go to rehab because they didn't serve whiskey.

 

Your insurance concern is a valid one IMO. I don't trust the alleged firewall between the health insurer and employer. Personally, I would pay the doctor and pharmacy in cash and not give up my insurance info.

If you read into its only used for narcolepsy in extremely low dose extended release capsules.
When used correctly all it does it suppress the narcolepsy.
Higher doses are for people with ADHD, the drugs effect on those with ADHD is majorly different than it is for someone without the disorder.
25mg of adderall in someone without ADHD will be like taking crack but in someone with ADHD it more or less levels you out, you think more clearly, and are more aware of things around you.
Serious ADHD could be described as living your life extremely fatigued. Sort of like in a fog.
I've got a very mild case of it and I'm sure everyone has it to some degree, I can level it out with coffee and being conscious of it but for people with severe cases it could be really frustrating to live with.
