I am sure is also includes holding on to his new log pages for 8 days and showing them to every dot officer he meets. I think he read it a "manual" that required him to do just that.

It's a nice video that may help some newer drivers.
Now I'll critique your methodology.
I think you need to storyboard your video before you make it, and possibly write a script so you don't get the rambles.
You begin by making a 5 day outlook when the load will only take 2.5, so you only need 3 days laid out.
You complained about not having a calculator at the beginning, then went in to your RM GPS to use the calculator later on. Poor planning. You could have had the hours already added up and saved some time.
Personally I would never use your preferred hours of driving, except for the second day.
I plan my trips in large part based on where I will stop that day for my '10'. As such I would never plan that trip to end the first day at 2200, because parking is too hard to find at that time of night.
I would have driven about 150-200 miles the first day, 500 like you on the second, then started at around noon for the final leg of the trip.
You also failed to mention time zones, but I guess that trip could have been more N/S than E/W.ramblingman Thanks this. -
Failing to Pre Plan is Pre Planning to Fail.
Of course your dispatcher is suppose to have done all this for you. If not, why is he getting a check.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Maybe you could produce his videos in your off time. Yes?scottied67 Thanks this.

Those same idiots like to schedule 3 drops in Chicago with 9 hours between the 1st and 3rd with drop number 4 in Detroit at 6 am the next morning.scottied67 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

That was brutal watching this video...
I e never spent that much time trip planning ever.
It's 1k miles! 700 a day you need a day and a half. Plenty of time and plenty of hours!
I would never park an hour out. I'd get on google maps, find a road that appears to have parking and go for it. Parking an hour out burns my driving time... Screw thatramblingman Thanks this. -
No. Not a producer.
Director perhaps.ramblingman and Bakerman Thank this. -
Sorta curious how you'd handle this trip. Greeley, CO to City of Industry, CA. 1063 miles, Pickup Saturday at 4pm, delivery Monday at 8am. That's 41 hours. I've had the incredible joy of doing this twice.
