    What's with the stubby hood compared to the truck next to it?

    Maybe it only has a four cylinder instead of six

    Some models of trucks come with various hood lengths. You don't need all the room running a mid-sized diesel, and it helps maneuverability (and weight transfer, though that's not a big deal on a set-back steer,) too. I think it was Jim Palmer who had a whole fleet of short-nose Century's, and they really looked strange.
