Most of the serious grades are noted in the trucker atlas with the "][" image at the pass summit location on the printed map. You have to look close to see it. But be aware that not all passes are noted in the Rand McNally trucker atlas.
But you can also check out various states road conditions apps and online websites. These typically list all the major passes individually. Example ...

If that driver was loaded, they in a heap o' trouble. Speed on the "hill" for 80,000 lbs. gross is 25 mph. I heard they time you once you leave the truck inspection area, and if it takes less time than they allow, you get a ticket. Is that true?

i believe that is the purpose of those several casino type video cameras that are up on the poles every few thousand yards are for, is to catch speeders.201 Thanks this.

Hopefully you're not going down as fast as you're going up.201 Thanks this.

Sometimes you go faster.
Take Homestake for example. Very easy pass to descend but I have people pass me all the time exceeding the speed limit by 5-10 mph. Yeah it takes a while to get to the bottom but I don't need the speeding ticket. Now climbing that thing, I was at 12 mph once by the time I got to the top. 210k gross and lost an intake actuator halfway up the east side. Another trip took nearly 2 hours to go from Three Forks to Butte.

If you've really got the grapes, go down the backside on Monteagle hill on Hy. 41. There's a small town a few miles after this stretch, and a cafe, and I was in my 4 wheeler, I stopped, and started talking to a local about "the hill", and he said, years ago, the trucks would go down 1 truck at a time, and when they got to the bottom, they would blow the horn, and the next truck would go down. He said a lot of wrecks on that stretch. Have a look. ( might want to cut the sound, I'm not sure what the lady is babbling about)

I think she's babbling on about how they're low on fuel.
201 Thanks this. -
I'm not trying to be Mr. Snitch, but it can't be wise to video yourself going down a hill with a coffee in left hand and doing all sorts of stuff with your right - especially when viewers can see the company name in the mirrors...
