So I want an APU pretty bad. I've heard TriPac is the industry standard but them seem to know that and charge accordingly. I called an installer for Dynasys out of New Braunfels, TX and it's $3000 cheaper and seem to have some pretty solid specs. Apparently they changed to automotive style components for the a/c and use a Cat motor that has all the maintenance items are easily accessed. I've seen a few at the truckstop and they don't seem to be really loud like a Rigmaster. Anyone have any experience with these APU's good or bad?
Dynasys look like a pretty solid APU

It has to last a million miles.... Tried and true has always worked for me.

@Wooly Rhino just installed a new Dynasy on his truck.

Last company I drove for had Dynasys on 1 model year of their trucks. Many of these APUs went to the shop so often, they just stopped fixing them and ignored the idle time on the truck as long as the mpg stayed above 5. After that experience, I wouldn't take one if they gave it to me. What you save on purchase price you spend on repair cost and down time. For me, it's TK or idle.
Zeviander Thanks this. -
Was it a Perkins or Cat engine? They have supposedly redesigned it completely and it has a 2 year warranty now

Was told by a Dynasys dealer that the SL model with the automotive a/c is having a/c charging issues. They aren't happy with the way Dynasys is handling it.

Dude, thermo king or carrier, let other suckers be beta testers.

With my truck running, I can tell when my reefer comes on. With my truck and reefer running, I can tell when my Dynasys comes on. If I know that I'm going to run it, I either pull straight in or park where I'll be by myself. They're good but they're loud.

I decided on the new Dynasys SL and got it installed at BIg Rig Truck Accesories in New Braunfels, Tx for $8600 + tax. It doesn't appear to be any louder that any of the other apu's I hear at the truckstop. Does seem to be a slightly different design but it blows ice cold air and the maintenance items are indeed very easily accessed. It came with a 3 year warranty too. Whether it works great or I have issues, ill be sure to update this thread
