My truck has broken down 3 times this month. It's now crapping out again. I've had 1 check in 6 weeks. It's been incredibly rough. At what point do you just hand the truck in and grab a new truck? I hate losing the tire fund, the performance bond, etc. Have any of you have a problem child for a truck? I could really use advice.

Are you losing money in maintenance cost or down time ?
-
Yeah I've lost 1200ish in parts. Ive been down 5 days. Lost multiple loads. Freightliner keeps telling me it's fixed and it's not. I've been to 2 different freightliners.

How much experience OTR?

Are you going to stay at PriMe or if you turn it in go somewhere else?
-
I need to finish out my year at Prime so i don't owe for training. I'm most likely just going to turn it in for a new truck.

blairandgretchen Thanks this.

Can you go company side? I mean.. At least you'd be getting paid, even if it's not as much per mile as the lease makes..
-
Turn in the truck and apply for a company job - elsewhere.
baha and driverdriver Thank this. -
4 months in on a used truck. The leasing woman told me they don't generally give new trucks to rookies so I got the used one only to find out she misinformed me. I might get a check next week. Might. Company may be the way to go for a few months to get my efund back. Then get a new truck.
