    I know you all know this but keep a record of your tickets because you might forget them. I just lost out on a sweet private fleet job. Everything I ever wanted, or so it appeared on the outside. I forgot about a speeding ticket from 2.5 years ago. They were kind of enough to send me an e-mail at least upon discovering it and telling me thanks but no thanks. I have a current job and really learned a lesson on this one. I'm down for the day but I'll be back up tomorrow on the hunt once again.

    This is nothing most of you don't already know, I know this. But maybe a personal twist will make you remember that ticket you got last year. After the prospective employer "refreshed" my memory, I still had to think about it. Now in this late hour I remember it well, right down to the cops lousy attempt at stand up comedy that night on the shoulder of I-10.

    Oh don't get me wrong. I'd lie in a heartbeat to an employer that is more than likely going to lie to me in the future. As soon as they show their true colors all of the sudden I have stuff to do on Monday. I even had one employer that made me have jury duty seven times in one year. I never got selected, just a day off. However something as small as a speeding ticket, just tell the truth. I will always give them the benefit of the doubt and so far I've never had an employer not lie to me. If I can get away with maintaining a fair income AND if they prove themselves to be liars then all bets are off. Most of the big carriers think your an idiot for choosing to be a truck driver and treat you as such. I am new to the private fleet side and I am hoping that things are different but who knows it might be the same and I'll be ###### if I waste another year with a mega carrier.

    My thing is if it is on paper I report it. You could also ask for a copy of your Mvr from the drivers license office it will cost aprox $2.40 that way you can list everything that is on it within the time frame that they want.

    i know to well not to lie and i did not lie just forgot to tell them the i was collecting disability so the last dat after being hired calling my wife letting her know that i was hired they called me in to the wellness office and told me that they could not use me cuz i was collecting Disability and i did not tell them cuz ah screw it i will keep looking but maybe i will look at the O/O so dont for get to tell them everything or else so good luck out there and keep the petal to the metal and hammer down :biggrin_2552:

    Why would you have to tell them your on disability? Did you ask them how they found out you were on disability? And if they hired you wouldn't you come off of disability? :biggrin_25526: Could this be some kind of discrimination?

    Well you could be right only problem is if you fill out info about worker comp or any other disabilty and that person puts no.

    Then the company finds out later that the person is on or has been getting money for a disability that is lieing on employemnt forms.

    On most forms you are signing there is a clause on it that says I agree that these forms are accarate to the best of my knowledge.

    Most companies have people sign a form that says if the company finds out that there is inacurate info on any of the forms you can be terminated for it.

    Pay the money and get a copy of your DMV before you fill out an application. In PA it is $5 for your 10 years DMV record. You are a professional driver, you should know your DMV history by heart.

    The question remains, how would they know he was on disability. What, do app's ask you every little detail of your life. If the disability apply's to the job then they should know, if not they don't need to know.
