that's what i wasn't too sure of, a DMV road test, or a company road test.

Either one can be stressful if that's all you're thinking about.

I'd say it depends on how badly you want it. The people in my class who flunked their DMV road tests weren't that serious about it. Usually someone else (taxpayers) was paying for their schooling and they had no real skin in the game. When it's your money and you're up on the wire with no safety net you'll be surprised how quickly you can figure out how to alley dock.

A good indicator is looking at any College or School that trains for CDL's in California, and the reason why some of the mega's no longer train in California, they have to report failure rates, and make them available to any prospective students. The schools have to track students for 1 year after they graduate and report how many made it past the 1 year point, and how much they were taking home. I looked through the stat's for 50 community colleges and schools, and found that on average, 90 plus percent pass their driving test and get a CDL. What is an eye opener is how many are left at the 1 year mark, it is approximately 12%, which means for every 100 people that successfully pass the driving test and get a CDL issued in California, only 12 will be left driving at the end of 1 year. I wonder what the numbers look like at the 2 year mark? I keep hearing of a drivers shortage, and looking at the numbers, there probably is, and the reason those that make it past the 1 or 2 year mark leave the mega's and go elsewhere, and why the mega's can't fill the seat. The average pay was $34,750 for a first year driver, which is almost poverty.

The road test not sure. But I did read a statistic once that said only about 10%of new drivers make it through the first year.

There were 15 of us and only 4 of us passed. The ones that didn't pass was pretty much expected.

lol i expect to make more then that my first year at least $500 net. Pizza delivery drivers aren't making that a week. The first year is the learning year i don't expect to make much. I won't have to pay rent basically living on the road and i have no other bills except cell phone and food.
