Can we assume you are seeking a class A? My wife bought her study guides online and studied and received her learners permit which cost $54 (Alabama). Once she had the permit she used part of an inheritance to pay for the final two weeks of driver training at a local community college. This got her the driving experience and testing done for her class A. All told, $1250!

If you know how to drive, then your pricing would be the cost of truck and trailer rentals (assuming class A), plus mileage, fuel and insurance.

You're talking about a cdl permit. You'll need to study general knowledge, airbrakes and combination vehicles You can get a cdl manual at the DMV station free of charge that you study from.To rent a semi I would talk to a college near you but it's not cheap. They charge by the hour which could range from $150.00 on up.You do not get a CDL untill you successfully complete all the tests.Which is pretrip, backing, driving Which is an assigned route by the examiner.

I rented the local college's truck to do my road test in. Cost me about $350 to rent it for the pre trip and road test.
