We always talk about To The Truck. We don't worry or care about Mercers cut. for me their 25% is worth it. But that's me.
Now that is funny there! Talk about timing.

Oh and I would not start my truck for $1.40 I can make that at a mega.
Drtro Thanks this. -
Being in Virginia would be military loads I've been told by a few people. Can I do those loads would a flatbed, or should I go step deck?
-
I was told average last week was lower.
Rates are down but areas with good contracts were still over $2 a mile.
The recruiters at Mercer are top notch and if they don't know the answer, they will find out who does!Drtro Thanks this. -
I know you won't post the good areas on a public board. Got to be in the club. But do coordinators help you out a lot if you ask them? I know from reading this thread so far, you have to plan ahead in order to make it. Just because a load pays good doesn't mean it's a good load when it drops you off in the middle of nowhere. Will coordinators help you plan ahead? Like say I'm home and there's a load out of Richmond headed towards Alabama or somewhere. I call my coordinator and ask about it. Will they "used car salesmen" talk it up just to get it booked, or will they be like "There won't be much in Alabama for you when you get there, but if you go to North Carolina to get this load, you'll end up in Chicago where there's more loads to choose from." Or do you pretty much got to learn that on your own? Still trying to understand what coordinators do. Also say you are early and want to see if you can reschedule the appointment for 2PM instead of 6PM. Who do you call? Or if you happen to be running late.

we have some good coordinates and some bad ones. many will warn you off bad areas but some don't know any better.
we also often make our own appts. And in the flatbed world we are parked and getting ready for bed at 6pm LOL But really it's pretty easy to adjust things with a call to the customer. -
Can you request a new coordinator if they aren't helping you like you'd want?
