Lol...I'm a company driver, never paid yet, and never will, that's one of those cost of being in business . You can slow down a bit if some like rock hauler. Flat Bedder, etc is going by you. But in all honesty happens to me like once every 3 yrs on average. Then I like those stupid signs on back of some of the dump trucks and rock haulers that say not responsible for damaged windshields , then they rip by you with busted or no mudflaps at 75 mph...lol...okay...one recently didn't get away with it, DOT man saw a missing mud flap and pulled him in at the scales

I use those cheap kits for about $14 to fix them myself. They do an okay job, definitely not perfect. But it does keep them from spreading.

When I was on the job as a Trooper I was behind a dump truck in heavy traffic. 3 rocks cracked my window He thought that stupid sign on the back that said " not responsible for damaged windshields " we're legit. Well he bought way more than a new windshield after I called DOT over to work it since my car was the victim.

It's funny, you can tell by the sound what it's gonna look like.
You hear it, cringe, then cuss.

There is no way you should lose any windshield stickers, if the glass man knows what he is doing. OTOH, he may know exactly what he is doing, and pull them off to sell on the black market...

You know, you really are getting to be a "hard man" there Wooly.:D And obviously there be some folks on here that don't know quite how to take you.

Pretty dam hard to keep from kicking up rocks when you drive. As long as you are in the normal travel lane, sometimes it is just going to happen. The ones that really should pay for it though, are the idiots who completely ignore the temporary speed limits that are in place when a chip seal has just been graveled. Now THOSE should be taken out hand horse whipped.

Well, look at some of these aggregate drivers. They probably move their lips when they read, IF they read at all. So boss tells 'em "we got ya covered with these signs," and they believe it.
Way back when I worked aggregate here in SW Utah, I heard some traffic on the company radio that totally cracked me up. We had a truck that was carrying crusher fines. Dispatch called him and told him to pull over and tarp his load.
He came back in this very snotty, arrogant tone of voice saying, "I don't HAVE to do that. It ain't in the law." Kind of changed his tune when dispatch told him the owner of the company was behind him, and had called dispatch on his phone, because this idiot's load was blowing all over the place.:D
