Wondering if its normal for a DM to constantly change your unload appointments (make them 3-4 hours earlier) after you've already 1)received the load assignment and 2) put in a "rolling call" with your ETA.
My new DM does this often and the new unload appointments have added unnecessary warnings about being late and costing the company money. I have never been late, in fact I am always early. I find those warnings insulting. It seems intentional, in case drivers might not take their unload appts seriously.
My current load has a 2nd drop 64 miles away. The original unload times were 8am tomorrow for drop 1 and after unloading+retarping, drop 2 was originally 12pm. Now i get qualcomm appt notice saying drop 2 is 10am and a few minutes later changed again to 9am unload for same drop. Changed twice in a few minutes. BTW Its impossible to do drop 1 at 8am and then retarp + be 64 miles away in 1 hour! Do other people get their times revised/jacked on them like this too? I wonder if its a test or just carelessness or what.
Unload appts changing

I'd like that DM if you didn't have the 2nd stop. Sounds like they are trying to keep you moving by bumping up your delivery appointments.
Hey more miles.
Is kind of annoying though screwing up your plan. Try not giving a rolling eta and see what they give as the standard automated time. DM is just probably double checking your work and trying to boost their productivity #'s. They get bonuses and crap for that.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I get that often but I don't stress about it because impossible is impossible and dispatch know it.For instance for tomorrow I was to have first stop at 7 am and second at 5 am but my truck is not equipped with time machine. This plan went to garbage anyway because I didn't get unloaded today.
On a side note your DM might have been forced to accept this app time even though it's impossible.Last edited: Oct 3, 2016

Ok so you guys think no big deal. Just do my thing anyways. Ignore the messages. I do think they might be motivated by bonuses. Im already hustling my butt off, always on time or better. Those "dont be late" macros seem like they are written for irresponsible teenagers who might be late to school if they don't get out of bed.

Sometimes dispatch has no choice. I can't tell you how many times over my career that loads got canceled or pushed back because of problems on the customers lines. It is just something that you get used to. I remember once picking up soap in Ohio. A driver before me had his load canceled and dispatch gave him mine. Crap happens.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
