Hello, it has been a couple of weeks since I have posted. I started looking into driving a truck, did a little research, asked a few questions here, and finally contacted several companies. I have an orientation day set with Maverick for October, 19. However, C.R. England contacted me after zero contact since early August, and offered me a orientation date for October 17. Can anyone offer me their experience actually driving for either of these companies.

Maverick will pay you more, has better training, and flatbed experience will open more doors for you in the future. I've never worked for either, but I've heard a lot of CRE drivers complain. Supposedly even the hotel experience at orientation is horrible.

Maverick is also home weekly correct?

Yes, almost every weekenedMidWest_MacDaddy and ExOTR Thank this.

Only complaint I've ever heard from a Maverick guy was slow trucks. I know they haul a lot of glass, have a flatbed and seemingly vans now.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

So you're choice is cr england or maverick? Not really a hard choice....c.r england does not have the best review.. I would go with maverick. Better equipment, better people and you get to pull flatbed! Unless you want to do reefer which maverick also do

Hey. I hope you find sonething that works for you. I too am looking for work again, after a "bad fit".
Still, even as the ink dries on my cdl, I know better than to work for CR england. Their training yard was next to my real school. The poor guys there watched us struggling to back a truck as their backing class. Half the time they were there, watching us through the fencr, sad eyes like the refugee kids sally struthers used to shed tears about in the 80s.
That company is like when that girl in south carolina got told not to hang out with the boys on the wrong side of the tracks, and she did anyway, and got set on fire and fed to alligators. Or something. Dont get fed to alligators. Listen to your brother truckers, who care about you. Say no to getting set on fire. Say no to
