Have no need for such things...I'm very happily married to my high school sweetheart.

New to having an APU. At what temp do you stop using the APU heater and start using the bunk heater?

Will the apu heater keep up when its 10 degrees? I know the bunk heaters work well at that temp.

The APIU provides no interior heat only the bunk heater does. In the winter the APU will only run when batteries needs to be charged or engine coolant drops below 50 degrees. The apu and engine coolant are tied together. That's what keeps engine block warm and fuel. These truck are fitted with the artic package so the coolant also runs thru the fuel to keep it warm as well. Never had any issue with staring even with below zero temps.

A Thermo King APU only has a fuel fired heater. Some of the other APU makers have electric heat strips, but not TK.

Tonight I have decided to use the bunk heat. It's only suppose to be in the 30's, but it's been a cold rainy day up here, and I got soaked doing a drop n hook in Appleton and I can't seem to warm back up.

There is no "APU" heater, unless you are talking about the fan. Turn on heat when you feel the need, it's the bunk heater.

In the winter when it's going to be say below 0 overnight you'll likely end up idling...

Had a unique wake up call this a.m. Sound asleep, dreaming about....well, nevermind....and BOOM, I get shook out of bed. I look out my drivers door and:

Fortunately, the guy was a professional and didn't try to run. An older driver, a little tired and pulling in to grab a shower and a nap. The good news for me, all that was damaged was my mirror's plastic housing and a scrape on the door where he pinned the mirror to it. Door opens/closes, mirror still moves, window works.

BTW, those little throw-away camera's suck at night...I may as well had a bic lighter for flash.

I've been hit three times at truck stops and never had an issue with a driver trying to deny it. Most folks out here are pretty decent people. the real ####### are the exception, not the rule.
