Do not beat yourself up over this.
The one time i stayed back......the stone came straight for me.
Like the bullet from a sniper,aimed right between the eyes.
Saw it coming.
But it is over before you can react.

 

I can tell if it's a break or a bounce immediately by the sound.

 

This owl nearly came into my lap, by the cracking sound on impact. However, turns out he only cracked the seal. Got my attention.

 

Can I patch this crack?

That happened when I hit a hawk at about 60mph.
The windshield caved in about 3 inches, but did not scatter into the dash.
There was a bigger mess someplace else....

 

Did the company get that replaced and did you have to get a PO and write a Comdata check?

 

I lost a right side mirror on my Bronco II coming out of Death Valley, years ago. Chukkar decided to take off from the side of the road at the wrong time.

 

They don't have a "hazardous waste removal" provision.
