I'm reading a post on another forum and this guy who had two trucks and two car haulers is selling all his equipment because he is going out of business. So I go to his YouTube channel where he has the trucks and trailers posted. Some of the comments left were asking him why was he selling everything. This is the part that pissed me off. This guy is running his mouth putting down other carriers saying some carriers are cutting down bids, shipping at low low rates and screwing up with brokers and dealers and he cant get work because dealers and brokers don't want "hot shot" type carriers because they can't be considered reliable. He then says its all these other guys screwing up the industry.

Here's the truth. I guess this guy is too stupid to realize anyone can go on the Safer Site and pull up your DOT number and see your company profile. He is not closing because of other carriers messing up he is closed down because he was put out of service by DOT for guess what. Operating a CMV with no Class A license not once but twice and failure to maintain equipment properly.
These are the people that give this industry a bad name and why DOT is so hard on everyone because this guy thinks he can get around the system and then when he gets caught he blames everyone else for his stupidity.
Maybe someone should of told him to hide his DOT number so he could keep up with the lies. Sorry I just had to rant because it irks me when people like this jerk causes more trouble for the rest of us doing everything by the book.

I just think its bull crap because we are all out here doing our best to provide for our family and we have enough headaches to deal with on a regular basis with DOT we don't need to have more drama because of morons like this and then on top of that say were out here causing the problem. If I am wrong in feeling this way then please someone tell me because I don't think I am

My number 1 business priority is DOT compliance, everything else comes after that. Is it frustrating to see others skate by with shoddy equipment that is non-compliant, Yes. Thing is you will not see them for long. Focus on what you need to do and do it well. Your going to see this stuff a lot and for your own sanity your going to have to let it go.

I totally agree with you. I just had to rant because I was offended by this louse who instead of manning up decides to blame everyone else for his problems. I do not operate like that and I am pretty sure most of us on these forums operate with the same dignity and honesty that comes with the title Professional Driver

This is ironic because, from what I've seen, it's guys like him who are screwing up this part of the industry. They either run sketchy equipment, or cut corners by doing not-quite-legal things, and then underbid everyone on CD. Take a good look at that guy; he's the poster child for everything I've been saying when I complain about every nimrod thinking he's going to get rich with an underpowered dualie and a rickety 3-car wedge.

The guy being discussed here isn't completely out of line with his comments though, as least from my experience. It would seem he's part of the group he's complaining about but there's some truth to it. Im not familiar with the car side but on the flatbed side, I run into shippers with a "no hotshots" rule every week. Its kinda understandable, as this being the lowest level and easiest to break into, there might be a higher level of degenerates in our group. Its not particularly fair though as I've yet to hear of a shipper banning all 18 wheelers because a Swifty took out their light pole leaving. We're disposable and can't haul as much though so we're not a big loss. It does suck for those of us trying to do things right and make a good impression. And for what its worth, most of the hot shots I see pulling brokered freight are running nice equipment, usually new(ish) Dodges, which makes me think shippers tolerance of us is really low. Like, one or two bad experiences with a hot shot low. The ragged out trucks are usually pulling UShip junk.

To some degree I see your point, my issue is most "hot shot" haulers and carriers on a smaller level like myself, take a lot of pride in what we do and at least for me I admit when I make a mistake and I usually get some flak on here when I ask questions about certain regulations or types of equipment I run. I would rather get ragged on by you all who I consider professional drivers with experience than not ask a question and roll into a scale house and receive a ticket or worse be put OOS. Sure I could go out and buy an $80,000 Ram 3500 Limited with every bell and whistle on it and have low payments but why, when I can go out and buy a 2016 Ram 2500 for $40,000 and own it outright. The point is I take pride in my equipment and myself and I want what we all want to make money and maintain a positive business reputation and guys like this who cut every corner they can is wrong and gives a bad name to an already not-so-good reputation of us professional LEGAL drivers.
