W&B has done all the work on this apu. They look over the unit and test everything everytime its the board. The heat always works but the A/C stops working. Usually right before it goes out ill hear it making noises under the bunk while im driving down the road. I always had the battery monitor off and never use the comfort options.
Running with JCT, Part Deux

You in one of the 3300 trucks? I only ask cause of your Pete logo. But now you've peaked my interest. Wondering if i have done anything on this one. Nothing else replaced. Harnesses, usually prime suspect. Usually no one wants to take time to crawl underneath the truck. Board replacement is symptom of the problem. If nothing else is getting replaced the problem usually isn't solved. Since you've said condenser fan issues (sorry didn't go back to double check if I'm remembering your problem wrong)I'd take a look at the harness. Maybe pinched Or rubbed where it runs under the cab. Or short in 12v harness. W&b doesn't always do the work. In fact I'd only get ones later in the day when they d get behind then they piled work on me.

.....and that ladies and gentlemen is why I have a Thermo King. LOLCrusader66, MachoCyclone, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, I'm a little bit lost, I thought the APU did not pump out heat?

One major issue I have with the Comfort Pro and JCT is that they won't let you install an inverter other than a 400 watt plug in.
If I wanna cook something in the crock pot while I'm driving, both the APU and truck are running. Where is the logic in that? Where is the fuel savings? -
The TK doesn't. It has an Espar heater. The APU simply turns on to keep the batteries charged up while using the heater.
The 14s have 2 separate controls: 1 for the batteries and AC and 1 for the heat.
The 17s are integrated with 1 master controller. -
Picking up in Tulsa going to New Jersey. Wonder if I'll find my nuts out in Ohio, PA area. Temps don't look too appealing.

I'm spittballing here, but does the APU put out about 6000 watts? Does the comfortpro have direct access to the full 6000 watts via household plugs?
I have the TK and limited to 1500 watt inverter which is really about 750 watts since the recommendation is to never pull more than half capacity. -
I'll run my microwave for a few minutes at a time thru the inverter. If I need to run it longer or use the hot plate or George Foreman, I'll simply idle the truck for 10 or 15 minutes to cook. Those draw too much for the inverter to sustain. A crock pot is no problem thoKamkor Thanks this.

the CP actually shares 6000w with the block heater. (Extension cord under bunk) on a 15amp breaker that is on whenever the APU is on. (Constant) and then you have a 35 amp breaker line that your HVAC and GFI hotel plug uses. When HVAC air is on you are using 9-12 amps. So like a rough estimate of 1440w high air. With a rough math of 660w till you hit 2100w(half of 35amp x 120v =4200w) high heat you are looking 3000w so 25amps.scottied67 Thanks this.
