@sxdime, the link to a FB video is up on Ziggy's FB group. Freaking brutal!
-
That is horrid! I know the tanker driver passed away but I'm wondering if the other fatality was one of the other vehicles that slid into the flames.
I noticed at one point in the video a day cab was sliding slowly into the fire ball with the drivers door open from where the driver bailed.
I saw the full unedited video on FB. Tough to see but people will never fully grasp the dangers of adverse driving conditions.Big Don Thanks this. -
It's up on YouTube:
Brutal.drvrtech77 and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Thanks @Hammer166 for putting that up. I hadn't seen the whole video. That is crazy! I didn't notice the door open on the day cab till Dna pointed it out.

Rain and or fog 2 things I hate in the winter....
-
Holy ****!
It's like something out of a "Die Hard"movie! -
700 miles to the west in Illinois,I-57 from Effingham south to Mt. Vernon last night was no picnic either. Rain turning into sleet and ice(no thanks to temperatures hanging around 31-32 degrees F) turned a good 45 mile stretch of that interstate into a skating rink. Saw at least a dozen cars in ditches in either in the center or on the shoulders and about four semis in different places(one jackknifed on a southbound exit ramp completely blocking it and a couple in the median where had they continued, they would've been on a collision course into the southbound lanes.
Winter time is here folks, you gotta take it slow!Lepton1 Thanks this. -
But the speed limit signs say 80MPH! So it must be safe to travel that speed...
I swear there are numerous folks who really think that way.
Lepton1, KillingTime, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -
And for goodness sake! When the road is good, the weather is good, you've got hours, and a driver who has your swap load home, and you've got a hot load with first 3 drops 6 hours apart. Drive!!!!
Don't take another break in Dallas 4 hours into your new 14, then leave at 09:30, and get caught in a minimum 4 hour accident road closure 60 miles later.
I'm getting set up to be in an un-winnable situation and I don't like it.
Rant over.
