I know I've seen signs staying what channel LEO monitors when entering certain areas. I've only seen two in my career.
The one I see daily is 301 in MD, it states the state police monitor channel 9. Channel 9 Is the alert channel, it's a very formal and you don't ######## on this channel. Specific terms are to be used in this channel as it's supposed to be very professional.
Do cops monitor ch 19?

Yup some areas the police do monitor channel 9 as the emergency channel.
-
Doubtful the county mounties do anymore, but chicken coops absolutely do. Some even have signs stating as such.
-
Watch out for the CB Savage.

On the second verse I thought for sure he was in the trailer waiting to get some "Bear Smokies" lol

I've called out to them and they've responded to me.
Was on I77 south. A parkinglot warns me about a pickup truck. I come up to the pickup and he brake checks suddenly. I back out of it and got in front of the parkinglot. The pickup matches speed with a slow truck. The slow truck backs out of it. An SUV cuts off the slow truck and tries to pass the pickup, and the pickup runs the SUV off road. There's a Virginia full grown in the median.
Six: Hey Smokey in the middle! This white pickup with PA tags is brake checking people and ran a 4 wheeler off the road.
HP: The white Chevrolet?
Six: 10-4. That's him.
HP: On it!
The pickup tried to run down the mountain. He was making a mad dash for the NC line. Unfortunately, the other HPs were waiting at the bottom of the mountain.
Six: Smokey, do you need me to pull over for an eyewitness?
HP: No sir. I've seen everything I've need to see.
Six: 10. I do thank you!
Was running across 20 one night in Lousiana, east of Monroe about 10pm. Heard a couple people on the radio chatting like old friends. Had a minivan just about sideswipe me. The minivan was going from shoulder to shoulder.
Six: Eastbound, XXXmilemarker, you got a drunk in a minivan going from shoulder to shoulder.
Hand: What's the 20 on the minivan again?
Six:XXX
Hand: That's right in front of me....
I look in the mirror and here he comes. You can tell most of them by how they drive that they're bears. This one was full grown Lousiana State Cop. He got in behind the minivan. And the sweating began. The minivan suddenly straightened up and tried to drive the straight and narrow. Thing is, if you're drunk or sleepy to the point to where you're running from shoulder to shoulder, the concentration needed to run straight and narrow will overload your circuits****Sure enough, MELTDOWN! Minivan suddenly lost it and went off-road. Smokey grabbed the shoulder and hit the blues.
****And this is why having a governed truck is so dangerous. You're trapped. Drunks and sleepy drivers for example have difficulty keeping in their lane. They also have difficulty running a constant speed. So they average 55 mph. Guess who gets stuck with the drunks and sleepyheads? You try to pass them at 60-62 and they get enough brain cells together to match speed or speed up so you can't pass. But that concentration hurts. They will slow down again in 30 yards. And here you go again back out in the left lane. They can't run 70 more than a 5 second spurt and can only maintain 60-62 maximum effort for a short time. That maximum effort will cause a mental meltdown. With them right beside you. Good news is, more often than not, when the meltdown happens, they go into a field trip instead of under your trailer. Well, I'd say75% of the time.Last edited: Dec 17, 2016
