Well I know this much...life ain't fair. Call it the buddy system or whatever you want. Sounds like business to me. Ask yourself why they would want to use a familiar truck....could it be they want to know that the loads will arrive on time with no BS rather than take a chance on the unknown? All it takes is making contact when the time is right and showing up and doing what you agree to do...over and over again. Prove you are a man of your word and eventually you become the favorite truck.
This is not unique to LS...any customer worth having is going to be selective on who they use. And the agent is the customer in this case. This is the relationship building they talk about. So many guys seem to live in the world of instant gratification. They want the same as guys who have been working at it for years. You don't get five star cuisine by using a microwave.

To me this is opportunity to invest time and prove yourself to earn better loads in the future.
That's the problem with many people, they see a challenge and take it as a negative instead of seeing an opportunity for the future.
If you live your life based on "instant gratification" your not going to get too far.sawmill, whoopNride and Bro_Dave Thank this. -
18 months later I am still happy with my decision to come to Landstar. I have made a few mistakes along the way and had a few issues with an agent here and there but in when looking at the big picture this has been a great choice for me and my family. Like most opportunities it is what you make of it.
The Boss Lady, Loke, sawmill and 3 others Thank this. -

This may be a dumb question im just trying to figure some things out while considering coming to landstar and 1st time o/o. How does fuel work. I understand fsc what i mean is when i first come and start there do i need to have money saved up before hand to cover me on fuel until my 1st settlement or will landstar help with that?
-
Once you book a load, you will have the option to immediately take an advance loaded to the com data card to more than cover you for fuel.
You should have some money saved anyway if you are considering a move to Landstar for a bunch of reasons. -
